AlBaik (Arabic: البيك) is a Saudi fast food restaurant chain headquartered in Jeddah, Hejaz that primarily sells broasted and fried chicken with a variety of sauces. It is Saudi Arabia's largest restaurant chain.[2][3] Albaik currently has a trade name in 80 countries.[4]
The chain was founded by Shakour Abu Ghazalah, a Saudi entrepreneur, who began selling fried chicken in 1974.[5] The restaurant was located on Old Airport Road in Jeddah.[6] Albaik was registered as a trademark in Saudi Arabia in 1986. In December 2020, Albaik opened two branches in Bahrain, marking the first time the chain expanded outside of Saudi Arabia.[7] Albaik popularized chicken in the fast-food industry, especially in the Muslim world, since it sells Halal (permissible) food.[8]
In September 1974, a Saudi entrepreneur Shakour Abu Ghazalah, renovated an old warehouse he was renting into Saudi Arabia's first pressure fried chicken restaurant and later opened it.[5] The restaurant was located on Old Airport Road in Jeddah.[6] Albaik was registered as a trademark in Saudi Arabia in 1986.

Hi, the method you used to fry chicken is under OPOS (One Pot One Shot) it is called CPF. Opos was developed by Mr. Ramakrishnan and improvised by so many other people. You have 30 lessons in OPOS to understand the techniques fully. Pls do not try CPF unless you have finished all the lessons and have got used to this way of cooking. (in OPOS all cooking is done in pressure cooker only with controlled measurements heat and time) Pls do not mention this type of frying method in your recipes a as most people are not still aware of OPOS techniques. The online marketplace is full of Al Baik resellers hawking unopened boxes of fried chicken transported back to Indonesia in the luggage and overhead compartments of flights catering to umrah package tour pilgrims. I know what you're thinking, "Wait, you're telling me that people are actually paying Rp 120,000 for a box of cold, four-day-old fried chicken?" They sure are. So, without much thought, I ordered my own box of Al Baik and waited.
But while the chain is from Saudi Arabia, the rest of Al Baik's story is pretty foreign. The founder, Shakour Abu Ghazalah, was Pakistani, the chickens themselves are from Brazil, and the iconic "broasting" method is from the United States. Not that it really matters. Sure the chicken's taste is part of its selling point in Indonesia, but even more so is its connections to holy cities in Saudi Arabia.
The menu is limited but the queues are serpentine. It takes 20 minutes to get to the counter where you can place your order, and an additional 30 minutes before you can get your hands on their famous broasted chicken and a side of fries.
