The camera is an adapter for HDMI standard to DPX, it can convert video without change in resolution to to Digital Portable Exchanger such as DV, HDV, XDCAM EX, DNxHD, XDCAM DX, AVCHD, AVC-Intra, AVCHD, HDV, XDCAM EX, AVCHD to DPX profile. And it can be used with various DPX players that support DPX.
CineForm Cinema is for the Pro use camera, it is a bit harder than it should be to set up and setup and use. It takes a very bit time to learn how to use it and get it working. Plus you will get a much faster reaction if you have a technical personnel with you to help you set up. The first movie I did, I used the CineForm Film back, took a 12 minute video and edited it in to HD (12 second framerates) then exported it in to XDCAM. I did this using the XDCAM Basic HD, although it will work in XDCAM Pro HD as well.
There are a ton of ways of editing in to HD in the Cineform Cinema or HDCinema2. One is to use the Non linear editor, and the other is to use the Adobe viewer, both are free to download in to your computer.
But if you have the time, and a little knowledge of your computer and how to use it, this can be done very easily, with the time investment of around an hour. I believe, that the first thing to do is to set up the camera and see what it is doing, and then edit in to HD. It is not as hard as it may seem, and if you have a technical person with you, they can help. It does not take much time to set up the camera, and then do your edit. But with the Cineform, once you set it up it does not need to be adjusted to your project, it is always ready to go. Well it will look and sound a little different from regular cameras, but it is still great for your use.
If you have the Adobe viewer, you can set up the camera's settings in the viewer. 827ec27edc
