Change Windows Language Settings through Group Policy. For the first time, you can configure your Windows computer to use a different language than the one set by default. You don't need to run the language packs, you can change the Windows language settings directly through Group Policy. You will be asked to install the Group Policy Editor on your computer. Start the Group Policy Editor by entering gpedit.msc in the Start menu, and clicking the icon that appears.
To change your language settings through Group Policy, you will need to add these Group Policy rules. To do so, perform the following steps on a Windows 10 computer that's connected to a domain.
In addition to the above methods, MUI can also be changed through Group Policy, which is a centralized management tool for all Windows deployment policies. Group Policy can be used to update the language settings for all computers connected to a domain, and to apply those settings to all new computers that are added to a domain. These settings can also be applied to individual or groups of computers, based on specified conditions. For example, you can force computers connected to a domain to use a certain language. You can also set a language for all computers, or computers that are part of a specific OU.
Once you have downloaded the language pack, you can install it using Add or Remove Programs, by selecting it from the list. You can also run the installation program directly from the Web site.
I do not need to know what's in the Russian language pack, because I am running a different language for my documents. But it is interesting that Microsoft can choose which character set should be used for the computer name in the registry.
