Why is there no v-model in vanilla JavaScript

I was working on a project in Vanilla JavaScript. After about three years of programming, I came across this. I want to know why do we don't have the v-model for the user to interact with the value stored in the input field, in Vanilla JavaScript?

I can't find any documentation on this.

You can bind an event listener onto the input element and check if the event's property value matches the value of the input.

For example,

const input = document.querySelector('input');

input.addEventListener('input', (e) => { if(e.target.value === input.value) console.log(input.value);

});

The code above will log the input's value to the console if the event's property value is equal to the input's value.
